This festive season, Maison Martell is renewing its Martell Exclusives initiative, bringing together an international trio of creative talents to reinterpret three emblematic products as part of a limited-edition gifting collection.

Renowned for his exquisitely detailed designs which fuse references to ancestral craft techniques with contemporary visual codes, artist and ornamentalist, Pierre Marie has reinterpreted House icon Martell Cordon Bleu.

The design, accompanied by a specially composed poem, is entitled The Vine and the Oak. An intricate tracery of leaves and shoots in rich shades of red and gold evokes the “love affair” between the vine and the oak from which cognac is born.

Pierre Marie surrounds his designs with a rich narrative, telling a story in both words and images. He was inspired not only by the history of Martell Cordon Bleu, but also by its creation. In two fables, written in the tradition of French lyric poetry, he evokes the romance between the Vine and the Oak, through which this legendary cognac is brought to life.
